| Parents |
Parents play a vital role in our classes. A parent or regular carer must accompany children in Tiny and Mini Musos and Junior Course at each lesson. Parents are actively participating and learning with the child and for this reason we do not allow siblings to attend the lessons. Students in Super starter and all AMS Extension courses may attend without a parent. Parents are still very welcome but are not required to attend class. |
 |
| Instruments |
AMS classrooms are fully equipped with high quality student and teacher instruments and utilise the latest technology in disc backing tracks to ensure a lively class atmosphere. Keyboard skills are an important part of the course. Students in all courses, with the exception of Mini Musos require a basic keyboard or piano at home. Please contact our office for further recommendation and advice for this important part of the course. |
 |
| Books |
Our exclusive AMS Course material includes books and CDs providing all pieces and work-sheet requirements. These are distributed in class with most classes requiring a new books/CD set each six months. |
 |
| Exams |
Yes - many of our students do enter into both practical and written exams with the AMEB. However, there is no pressure to participate in exams and many of our students simply learn music for their own enjoyment. |
 |
| Groups |
AMS classes have a maximum of twelve students (ten for Tiny and Mini Musos) with an average of nine. Private piano lessons are encouraged in addition to class at extension level but are not offered for beginners. |
 |
| When |
| All AMS classes operate according to the government school terms, averaging ten lessons per term. Our classes are not affected by “Pupil free” days. |
